Skidaway Marine Science Day


More than 1,800 visitors joined the activities of Skidaway Marine Science Day in October. The cam- pus-wide open house was spon- sored by the University of Georgia (UGA) Skidaway Institute of Ocean - ography, the UGA Marine Extension and Gray's Reef National Marine Sanctuary. CCA Georgia had a booth at the event and displayed items that helped describe our oys- ter reef restoration efforts as well as our porcupine materials used in our freshwater lagoons. The chapter also gave away Join CCA stickers as well as Rising Tide newsletters to the numerous children who stopped by our display booth.


LandingsFest 2015 All Photo Catch and Release Tournament I


N SEPTEMBER, the CCA Tampa Chapter invaded the picturesque facilities of Tampa Bay Watch and held the 31st Annual All Photo Catch and Release Tournament, pre- sented by T.A. Mahoney, Co. Eighty-five anglers fished in the all-artificial event, long-recognized as Tampa Bay’s toughest angling test. Division Champions took home custom trophies designed by Andy Hidalgo and the Tournament Commit tee. Champions and the top-two runners up in each divi- sion won gift certificates to T.A. Mahoney, Co.


Friday night’s Captain’s Meeting


was catered by Salt Block Catering, and the Saturday Awards BBQ was provided by Little Taste of Country BBQ. Budweiser products were donated by Pepin Distributing and the Friday evening raffle featured prizes from T.A. Mahoney Co.’s complete line of fishing, boating, and outdoors equipment, as well as

HE LANDINGS ASSOCIATION thanked all residents, sponsors and guests who turned out in late October to celebrate LandingsFest 2015. The CCA Skidaway Chapter manned a booth displaying various marine conservation initiatives undertaken by CCA over the years. CCA stickers, TIDE magazines and Rising Tide newsletters were passed out along with Halloween candy to children in attendance.


The weather was perfect and the


crowd was in good spirits as they enjoyed the sounds of The Christy Alan Band, the great food offered by local vendors, and the company of their neighbors and friends. The kids’ events also were a big hit as the youngsters enjoyed Games2U activities such as the gaming truck, laser tag, and hamster ball.
