Great Rail Journeys adds trip extensions for 2015-16

Great Rail Journeys has added holiday extensions in three destinations and cut up £300 off selected departures in its Worldwide Adventures 2015-16 programme.
The range features 32 rail
holidays in the US, South America, Asia, Africa and Australasia. The rail specialist is offering
283 departures in 2016 and has distributed a leaflet to the trade to promote its itineraries. Three-night extensions before or after tours can be added. A new Hong Kong extension,
which leads in at £465, can be added to both of Great Rail Journeys’ China tours. The operator has also
introduced extensions in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, starting at £435.
Newmarket Holidays launches an online training programme
Newmarket Holidays has introduced an online training programme for the trade. It aims to improve travel agents’
knowledge of the operator’s products and increase awareness of the Newmarket brand. Nic Newmarket, the operator’s
mascot, will guide agents through five modules: dedicated agent support; European air holidays; worldwide air holidays; coach touring; and cruising. Agents who achieve 70% in the modules’ multiple-choice test will receive a certificate and be

entered into a monthly draw to win a bottle of prosecco and a box of chocolates. They will also have a chance to win a fam trip abroad. Butlins to operate another three family science weekends
Butlins will host The Astonishing Family Science Weekend again next year. The science-themed breaks,
which were new this year, are aimed at families with children aged six to 14 and kick off at the Bognor Regis resort on April 15. They will also run at Skegness on June 10 and Minehead on September 16. The holiday parks operator has
teamed up with the Science Museum and Aardman Animations to offer a series of science experiences and on-stage demonstrations. Three-night breaks start at £75 per person, based on four sharing
