Dudley T. Campbell, 79, Refugio, died June 29. He was born Feb. 28, 1936 to Charles and Grace Camp-
bell. He received his Bachelor of Science at Texas A&I University and his master’s degree at Colorado State University. He married Kathleen Clarkson May 29, 1958. Together they raised 4 children and ranched and farmed in Refugio, Goliad and Bee counties. He is past executive secretary of the National Cattlemen’s Association, and served the ranching community in numerous national leadership positions. He is sur- vived by his wife Kathleen; daughters Allison John- ston and Kathleen Stadler; sons Dudley Campbell Jr. and Charles Campbell; and numerous relatives. Edward Willets Cassin Jr., 93, Batesville, died July 19. He was born to Edward Willets and Storrow
Devine Smith Cassin on Sept. 25, 1921. He graduated from Central Catholic High School, San Antonio. Cas- sin began ranching at age 17, leasing the Hillingdon Ranch, Comfort. In 1943, he moved to the Cassin fam- ily ranch at Batesville. He was instrumental in the successful efforts to eradicate the screwworm in Texas and the Southwest. B.J. was born in Blum to Walter and Willie Margaret Thomas Kirkpatrick. He married Donna Corley in 1951 in Fort Worth. He began his law enforcement career in 1957 with the Fort Worth Police Department, rising through the ranks and earning honors until his retire- ment in 1993. He was especially proud to be part of the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo family, where he led the Stock Show police detail during his time as captain and deputy chief. After retiring from the po- lice department in 1993 Chief Kirkpatrick continued to work with the Stock Show executive staff, advis- ing and leading police personnel for another 20 years, stepping down from that position after the 2014 show. Kirkpatrick is survived by a daughter, Melissa Wil-
liams; sons, Shannon Kirkpatrick and Brad Kirkpat- rick; and numerous other relatives. Memorials may be made to the Fort Worth Police
