BEREAVEMENTS
Thomas Floyd Petit, 78, of Waurika, Okla., died June 24. He was born August 18, 1936, in Archer City, to Thomas Stevens and Lita Canada Petit. He was married to Ceci- lia Iris Cole on September 9, 1960, in Vernon. Petit was a cowboy and a TSCRA member.
He is survived by his wife; sons, David and Mike Petit;
sister, Nina Bromfi eld; and one grandchild. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ameri- can Diabetes Association. Dudley T. Campbell, 79, of Refugio, died June 29. He was born Feb. 28, 1936, to Charles and Grace Camp- bell. He received his Bachelor of Science at Texas A&I University and his Master of Science at Colorado State University.
Campbell married Kathleen Clarkson May 29, 1958, and they raised 4 children. He ranched and farmed in Refugio, Goliad, and Bee counties for many years, and taught and did research at Colorado State University. He served as executive secretary of the National Cattle- men’s Association; was a Texas representative for the National Livestock and Meat Board; was director of economic services for TSCRA; president of B.K. Johnson Interest in San Antonio; and president of Amistad Beef Company in Eagle Pass.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years; their chil- dren, Allison (Bryan) Johnston, Kathleen Stadler, Dudley Campbell, Jr. and Charles Campbell; and numerous other relatives.
Lloyd Donald “Brink” Brinkman, 86, of Kerrville, died July 4. He was born in 1929 to Carl and Astrid Brinkman near Dagmar, Mont. The family later moved to Pascagou- la, Miss. After graduating from Pascagoula High School, he attended Pearl River Community College, Poplarville, Miss. He completed his education in 1952 at the Univer- sity of Southern Mississippi, Hattiesburg, after serving in the U.S. Army.
In 1960, Brinkman founded LD Brinkman Company
in Dallas, which became the largest fl oor-covering dis- tributor in the U.S. In 1968, he acquired a herd of Bran- gus cattle, which formed the foundation stock for Brink’s Brangus, one of the leading Brangus herds. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen, and numerous other relatives.
