EVEN FAMILIES WERE HONORED FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING LAND MANAGEMENT PRACTICES during the 2015 Cattle Industry Summer Conference. The Environmental
Stewardship Award Program (ESAP) honors the efforts of farmers and ranchers who are dedicated to maintaining and improving their lands to ensure that they are productive for future generations. TSCRA and Texas Section, Society for Range Management nominated 6666 Ranch, Guthrie, who won Region IV. Regional and national award recipients serve as role models among their
peers in the farming and ranching community, ensuring that the innova- tive conservation practices are widely adopted by other land managers. The program is sponsored by Dow AgroSciences; USDA-NRCS; U.S. Fish
and Wildlife Service; Tyson Foods; National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA); and the National Cattlemen’s Foundation. The other regional win- ners were Valley View Farms, Harrisonburg, Va.; Bull Hammock Ranch, Fort Pierce, Fla.; Glenn and Bev Rowe, Lorimor, Iowa; American Fork Ranch, Two Dot, Mont.; Maggie Creek Ranch, Elko, Nev.; and Kopriva Angus, Raymond, S.D. The winner of the National Environmental Stewardship Award is se-
lected from the regional winners and is announced during the Annual Cattle Industry Convention. This year’s national award winner will be announced in San Diego, Calif., on Jan. 27, 2016.
EXAS AND SOUTHWESTERN CATTLE Raisers Association earned the
use of a piece of equipment from New Holland for its outstanding efforts to recruit new members to the National Cattlemen’s Beef As- sociation. TSCRA will get the choice of a 1-year lease on a New Holland Roll-Belt™ 560 Specialty Crop round baler or a 1-year lease on a New Holland T6 175 tractor. The award winner was announced at the 2015 Cattle Industry Summer Conference in Denver. “New Holland has been a great
partner to NCBA since 2003, recog- nizing and rewarding our affi liates who help strengthen the member- ship base and give the cattle indus- try a stronger voice,” said Philip Ellis, NCBA president. “Like New Holland, these state affi liates recog- nize that the organization’s growth is a smart way to promote beef and protect a way of life.” “It takes all of us working to-
gether to keep the cattle industry strong and viable for future genera- tions of farmers and ranchers,” said Ellis. “These affi liates have earned these awards because of their com- mitment to the continued success of NCBA and our industry.”
