Sandhill Cattle Company Wins Levelland Ranch Rodeo W
ILD-COW MILKING WAS THE DECIDING FACTOR IN WHICH team won the TSCRA Levelland Ranch Rodeo,
July 18. The bronc riding, team doctoring and team branding
competitions set up a showdown in the last segment. Spires Land and Cattle and Tongue River Ranch
were fi rst and second going into the wild-cow milk- ing, and the teams were in a tie after their respective runs. The fi nal team, Sandhill Cattle Company, needed to beat 36 seconds in the wild-cow milking to win the entire rodeo. Team captain Tripp Townsend made quick work
of the roping and the rest of the team worked hard to put together a fabulous 30-second run and take home the championship. Spires Land and Cattle won the tiebreaker for second place and Tongue River Ranch came in third. The Top Hand was Tyler Rice, Sandhill Cattle Com-
pany. Cayce Lewis, Circle Slash Cattle Company, rode the Top Horse. Special thanks go to the TSCRA Ranch Rodeo Work-
ing Group of Jon Means, Seth Denbow, Van Baize, Blake Birdwell, Paxton Ramsey and Wesley Welch, for producing the 2015 ranch rodeos. Special thanks also go to the Caprock Ranchers As-
sociation for helping host the ranch rodeo. The ranch rodeo sponsors included Capital Farm
Credit, American Hat Company, City Bank of Lubbock, Olathe Boot Company, T&R Saddlery, National Rop- ers Supply, and Hip O Cattle Company. Hip O Cattle Com- pany also served as the stock contractor for the event. See more pictures
