C.E.D. invests in purpose built warehouse to improve customer service levels


million investment in a new, custom built, bulk warehouse by the Thames in Rainham, Essex, just 15 minutes from the existing warehouse and head office in Dagenham. The new building incorporates the family firm’s Meridian lighting and energy saving solutions throughout. This new facility adds a further 30,000sq ft of floor space, but as it is a 15m high, narrow aisle building, it doubles capacity with a further 5,000 pallet spaces. It was expected to be fully operational by the end of July 2015 and will significantly improve deliveries to C.E.D.’s extensive and exclusive distribution channel of electrical wholesalers.
