With the exhibitor list growing at a rate of knots, Scandia Refrigeration has signed up as a ‘brand partner’, taking the biggest stand at the ACR Show 2016.

CANDIA REFRIGERATION PRIDES itself on being seen as the most competitive cold room wholesaler and manufacturer in the UK market, while still delivering on quality. In late 2013 industry giant Arneg granted Scandia sole UK importation rights for its brand cold room, broadening its range and increasing its market share. Alex Mockford of Scandia says: “We can now offer more affordable, convenient options using the modular cold rooms that we market and sell at the most competitive price in the industry. This fact, together with the fantastic reputation Arneg have in the refrigeration industry has caused these rooms, picked and packed, to leave our warehouses in multiple numbers every day.”

As part of the agreement with Arneg, Scandia now imports the industrial panels, which arrive in 40ft containers weekly. Mr Mockford continues: “This has radicalised our production methods and has sliced the time it takes to manufacture one of these cold rooms in half – increasing the amount of cold rooms we can build in a day. Looking forward, we are setting out to dominate the market in the forthcoming years.”

As the UK’s only dedicated event for the HVAC&R industry, the ACR Show is key to Scandia’s plans for the future, explained Mr Mockford: “We last exhibited at the RAC 2009 Show with only an average/ small sized stand. By now taking the biggest stand at the ACR Show we aim to use this event to demonstrate just how much we’ve grown and just how much we’re setting

out to dominate the market, by making an impact.” Asked what visitors could expect to see from Scandia Refrigeration at the show, Mr Mockford is clear: “Visitors can expect to see all things refrigeration. The stand will have areas perfect for the freezer geezers interested in having an interactive experience, as well as catering for the visitors who don’t feel the need to talk but could take a business card, USB or brochure away with them. “The stand will have products ranging from door furniture, refrigeration equipment, refrigerated display, modular cold rooms, refrigerated trailers, and of course a cold room.”

First timers

Exhibiting for the first time at the ACR Show 2016 are Innotech Europe and Pole Star Products. Commenting on the new and improved format, Innotech Europe’s distribution manager Thomas McIlhatton says: “Innotech is not a company that waits and follows trends, we like to make them. As the ACR Show has taken this step to offer support to the HVAC&R and building and energy management industry, we are proud to support this move and believe that having a more diverse offering – including HVAC&R controls and BEMS – for attendees, will really make the event something people won’t want to miss.” Pole Star’s electric motors are used in all types of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment. Its components are supplied to OEM companies, refrigeration wholesalers, heating distributors, service and

maintenance companies, and many other types of business – all requiring high quality reliable parts.

Its factory warehouse stocks thousands of motors and fans, including many which are still available to fit old, obsolete and imported appliances where the original part is no longer available.

Sales manager, David Cowood said: “Pole Star staff will be on the stand to explain about many of the special parts which we manufacture for unique applications; often resurrecting old designs that have been discontinued to ensure HVAC and refrigeration equipment is always cost effective to maintain.”

Old favourites

The ACR Show 2016 is also welcoming a number of exhibitors back.

Simon Ravenscroft, northern regional sales manager for National Refrigerants says: “We are proud to support the ACR Show again as we strongly believe in investing back into the industry. Without platforms like the ACR Show we would have almost no way of talking to the industry on a one-to-one level. Personal interaction is the only way to gauge real opinions from real people. “With all the new changes in F-Gas legislation, this year’s show has one simple goal – to meet new and existing customers and find out ‘how we can help’. Our focus this year is simply to offer our help, advice and give our support to our existing customers and maybe welcome some new ones.”

In addition to exhibiting at the ACR Show, Klima-Therm is also set to sponsor one of the seminar theatres. A spokesperson for the company commented: “We are supporting the show because we have some very innovative products to exhibit – some brand new – and The ACR show is the perfect platform to launch them. From the show we would expect exposure to a sector of the market difficult to penetrate on one-to-one bases; and to hopefully to send a message out to a qualified audience.”

A market leader in the supply of refrigerant and service gases, A-Gas has also voiced its support for the 2016 event. Managing director John Ormerod has promised that staff will be on hand to offer technical support and advice on retrofit
