PAUL McLaughlin has been appointed to the post of chief executive of the Building & Engineering Services Association (B&ES), a position he will take up on 25 August.

Mr McLaughlin began his career with high profile brands such as Mars and Coca-Cola, rising to hold senior positions in operations, innovation and quality assurance.
In January 2008, he became chief executive of the trade association Scotland Food and Drink and since 2011, he has served as managing director of a specialist food business based in the West of Scotland, as well as a member of a Scottish Enterprise regional advisory board, and a trustee of a national charity.
STEVE Hobbs will be joining Cold Store Rentals, as a director from 1 September.

Based in Mansfield, Mr Hobbs will be joining the business to grow its sales in the north of England and Scotland. He joins Cold Store Rentals with over 18 years’ experience in the cold storage rental business, working with specialists Viessmann, Blue Cube and Dawson Rentals. Co-Director Steve Prior, with whom he has worked previously, commented: “We are delighted to have someone of Steve’s experience join the company. After a great first year we are growing from strength to strength. There are exciting times ahead”.
LG has appointed Andrew Robinson of Exi-Tite as its sales agent for Northern Ireland. He will be responsible for promoting the products of the Air Conditioning & Energy Solutions division to specifiers and contractors in the Province.

ICS Cool Energy,has appointed Neil Gibbs as group HR director. Mr Gibbs joins from Radiodetection (part of SPX Corporation), a global multi- technology company that specialises in the development of new and innovative products essential to utility workers and contractors, where he was Global Human Resources Director.

Here, Mr Gibbs gained extensive experience in developing a strategic HR structure, and embedded the ongoing implementation of key initiatives which align individual performance to company requirements. Chairman Phil Wilson said: “Neil’s appointment as our first HR Director follows that of Group Marketing Director Paul Griffin, another newly created role. Both are of critical importance to our growth plans.”

Refrigeration Systems has appointed two new sales managers.

Iain Black (pictured left) has stepped into the newly-created post of UK and Ireland sales manager (cabinets), focusing on business development for plug-in and remote cabinets, and Leon Wilczynski (pictured right) has become sales manager for the north of the UK. Mr Black gained broad-ranging technical and commercial experience as an engineering manager for Tesco’s property department. After working on store and distribution centre specifications, roll- out programmes and environmental initiatives, Mr Black was most recently Tesco Group buying manager responsible for the procurement of all refrigerated equipment and installation. Mr Wilczynski joins Veissmann after eight years as northern regional business unit manager for Foster Refrigeration and has more than 20 years’ experience in the commercial catering equipment industry working for blue chip companies. Operating out of Viessmann’s Telford
headquarters, Mr Black and Mr Wilczynski both report to sales and marketing director Steve Steadman.
