“Smart, sophisticated, downright hilarious.” —TimeOut Chicago

The Improvised Shakespeare Company returns with a show that “channels Monty Python as often as the Bard” (Chicago Tribune). Based on an audience suggestion for a yet-to-be-written play, the group creates a fully improvised performance in great Shakespearean style. Creating the characters as you watch, the play is filled with power struggles, star-crossed lovers, sprites, kings, queens, princesses, sword-playing, rhyming couplets, asides, insults, persons in disguise, and everything else that we’ve come to expect from the pen of William Shakespeare.

“A rare performance.” —Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

In an amazing line-up featuring masters of American roots music, Ry Cooder, Ricky Skaggs, and Sharon White come together for an evening of blues, gospel, and bluegrass. An infrequent live performer, Cooder is a virtuoso roots guitarist and six-time Grammy winner called the “eighth greatest guitarist of all time” by Rolling Stone. Cooder’s music is steeped in the blues, but spans musical worlds from Tex-Mex to Cuban bolero. Mandolin wizard Skaggs is a fourteen- time Grammy-winner whose name is synonymous with both bluegrass and country music. White is known as one of the purest voices in country music, with both her family band The Whites and as a solo artist. The three perform an evening of string-based roots music with plenty of musical surprises.
