There is a new category at this year’s Travel Brit Awards to honour the agent or agency that has done most to support the domestic sector in the past 12 months


Suppliers hosting the Travel Brit Awards are to honour the agent or agency that has done the most to support the domestic sector in the past year. The UK Ambassador Award will


be presented for the first time at this year’s event on Sunday, June 28, with the winner unveiled from a shortlist of three at a glittering gala dinner. This year’s Travel Brit Awards has a ‘Red, White and Blue Ties and Tiaras’ theme and will take place at Warner Leisure Hotels’ Littlecote House Hotel in Berkshire. As always, there will be


afternoon educational sessions with participating suppliers, followed by a champagne reception, gala dinner and the awards ceremony.


How to enter


Please provide a short submission that demonstrates your passion for and knowledge of UK tourism product and how you use that to drive business and inspire colleagues and customers alike. Finalists will need to demonstrate: l Consistent commercial performance and growth in partnership with a range of domestic suppliers.

of the breadth of tourism product, destinations and attractions across the country, and a passion for promoting the UK to all.


l Evidence of a successful domestic promotion or activity, such as participation in VisitEngland’s Holidays at Home are GREAT campaign; joint marketing with suppliers; themed events; and attempts to cross-sell


existing customers.


l Evidence of participation in training and events.

Ambassador Award is designed to recognise, reward and inspire an outstanding contribution to domestic tourism.” The UK Ambassador Award will


be presented in association with Travel Weekly, the media partner for the Travel Brit Awards.


The category is open to travel sellers or agency branches. They will be expected to demonstrate how a strong UK sales focus has improved their commercial performance over the past 12 months. Three finalists will be invited to the awards, where the winner will be announced by


Travel Weekly’s editor-in-chief, Lucy Huxley.


The participating suppliers are Hoseasons,


Bourne Leisure, Great Rail Journeys, Shearings Holidays, SuperBreak and VisitEngland, as well as new partners Airways Holidays, Condor Ferries and Visit Guernsey.

Abta LifeLine once again named Brits’ charity partner


Abta LifeLine has once again been selected as charity partner for the 2015 Travel Brit Awards. As well as raising funds


at the event, the charity will provide an update on upcoming activities. Trudie Drake, director of


Abta LifeLine, said: “I am delighted that Abta LifeLine will be at the Travel Brit Awards. It is an excellent opportunity to raise vital funds for the charity and to tell colleagues about the amazing support we can give them and their families, in times of need.” Upcoming Abta LifeLine
