WAREHOUSING & STORAGE FEATURE INDUSTRIAL VERTICAL LIFT AND CAROUSEL SYSTEMS
Couzens Storage Solutions has reached agreement with Schwab Förder-und Lagertechnik to market its storage and handling products in Great Britain. Schwab systems complement Couzens’ established range of Vertical and Lift Carousels, providing a comprehensive series of equipment for storing anything from small electronic components up to 6,000kg metal sections, cable and awkward, heavy loads. The range now being handled by Couzens includes: Tower Vertical Lift: an automated heavy-duty storage and retrieval system for heavy, large and awkward items including bar and sheet, castings, jigs and tools in manufacturing and distribution environments. Each cassette can store lengths of 6.0m or more with a capacity of 6,000kg and sheet metal up to 4.0m x 2.0m with a capacity of up to 3,000kg. By using the building’s headroom to the maximum Tower Lifts save some 80% of space compared to cantilever and other rack-based systems, making storing and retrieving products a fast, safe and easy operation. Mini-PAT Paternoster uses the same
design concept as the larger multi-loop with overall dimensions suited to more restricted spaces. Each carrier can hold up to 1,000kg with items up to 6.0m wide and up to 16 carriers in each Paternoster giving a total unit capacity of 16,000kg. Goods-to-man ensures fast cycle times with simple, safe operation in the minimum floor space. Couzens Storage Systems has added a
format they use up to 4,000kg capacity steel carriers inside a framework, travelling along the shortest path to provide goods-to-man service. Items requested are presented at an access port at a comfortable working height for manual handling or safe access by mechanised lifting equipment. There is no theoretical limit to machine sizes other than space available and working practicalities with possible heights of 25m or above, depths of 30m or more and widths of 8.0m or more.
Schwab Paternoster systems complement Couzens’ established range of Vertical and Lift Carousels
new machine design to its established Modula series of Vertical Lift systems which provide productive goods-to-man vertical picking and storage. By making maximum use of available headroom the Modula series saves floor space and delivers products on demand to operators quickly and accurately. The Modula Sintes Vertical Lift PLC- controlled machine provides the same operational and space-saving features, storing a wide range of small to medium sized items. A twin-tray delivery system helps speed picking and features while fully integrated software ensure high levels of accuracy, security, speed and inventory management.
