MEMBER NOTES

TSCRA to Offer More Ranch Gatherings This Year

A

Curtis Younts, Association Promotion Committee chair

S YOUR INCOMING ASSOCIATION PROMOTION COMMITTEE CHAIR, I WOULD LIKE TO introduce myself to TSCRA members. I’m from Belton and raise com-

mercial and purebred Hereford cattle in Bell and Milam Counties. Claude Koontz, your new Association Promotion Committee vice chair,

and I are committed to serving TSCRA and helping the association reach our long-term goal of 20,000 members by 2020. The Regional Association Promotion (RAP) team has planned dozens of

activities for 2015, focusing on getting TSCRA to as many areas of Texas and Oklahoma as we possibly can. It is critically important that TSCRA members see and hear fi rsthand all the things the association is working on to help protect the ranching way of life. Claude and I have a simple request of all members: we would like to in-

vite all 16,850 TSCRA members to attend at least 1 ranch gathering in 2015. As of this writing, we are planning to conduct nearly 50 events throughout Texas and Oklahoma, so there will be at least 1 near you. The 2015 gathering schedule kicks off with a bang in April, featuring 6

gatherings in Oklahoma and Texas. Please join us for a few hours and enjoy some great food and fellowship. April 7 — Mobeetie April 8 — Mangum, Okla. April 18 — Guthrie April 20 — Del Rio April 21 — Cotulla April 23 — Kilgore Finally, I would like to thank Claudia Wright for her service as the As-

sociation Promotion Committee chair in 2014. Claudia has a deep passion for TSCRA and we appreciate her time and commitment to the association. I would also like to thank 3 outgoing RAP team leaders: Brian McLaugh-

lin, Bobby Jones, and Blake Birdwell. They have each given generously of their time for many years.
