ADVERTORIAL The Skateland Series Olga Jaff ae, an adult skater and author of the Skateland series, blends the world of fi gure skating with magic. Her
knowledge of the sport helps her to provide accurate descriptions of skating technique. The realm of fantasy adds fun and excitement to the story. The main characters are two aspiring skaters who train in Skateland, a magical place where people skate every-

that, Skateland athletes also have to battle evil spirits and witches. Skating witches are former athletes who were unsuccessful in their sport. Instead of going on with their lives, they became obsessed with ruining the careers of other skaters. The witches’ names, Pride, Injury, Fear, Destruction, Cheating, etc. are allegoric representations of the challenges that every athlete has to face. The chief message of the series is that pure, unadulterated love for what you do will make you happier than any medal or monetary gift. The Skateland series is recommended for any skater, regardless of age and level.
