Welcome to the fi rst issue of 2015 which is positively bulging with features and news stories to keep you entertained during the next two months. We are taking our annual winter break with this bumper issue, but of course our website will continue to provide comprehensive daily updates on the education construction sector in the interim. Talking of which: make sure you pay the site a visit from January 19 onwards in particular, when you can check out (and hopefully admire) our spectacular, user- friendly redesign. Your feedback would be very welcome. Back to print and you’ll notice at once the theme for this issue: sustainability in all its planet-saving glory. In truth, most editions of Building 4 Education could be similarly themed, so all-pervasive is the green agenda in every aspect of construction and facilities management, from multi-million pound new-builds to low-key heating or lighting upgrades. This makes sense at all levels: thinking green has economic as well as environmental benefi ts, and where bet er to inspire future generations than in schools and colleges?
