Echoing the prayerful desire of these very words is our December article (p. 20) on Sacred Activism: where the “passion for God” meets the “passion for justice.” Author Kabir Helminski says it succinctly: “Our life in the world is a continual call and response.” There are endless ways for us to respond with kindness to the needs of others. Help children (pp. 24-26) become aware of ways to give of themselves—whether at home, in the neighborhood or beyond. The projects eager young people have taken on to assist those in need are truly inspiring and foster a lifelong habit of giving.
December is the perfect time to ponder how each of us can make the world a better place. Not only on our holidays but every day will bring us more joy if we do. Finally, when looking for gifts to make others happy, be sure to check out our loyal advertisers who offer their specialties all year long. Most offer gift certifi cates, too.
May your holiday celebrations be blessed with Togetherness, Mindfulness and Love,
