EZ-BoardWare PCB contact from Harwin is secure and cost-effective
New SMT socket accommodates wider range of pins
Harwin, the leading SMT board hardware and hi-rel connector manufacturer has expanded its popular EZ-BoardWare PCB socket portfolio with a new contact which can accommodate mating pins ranging from 0.8mm to 1.5mm in diameter. These new products complement an existing range, enabling Harwin to offers parts with pin diameters from 0.8mm to 1.8mm. A cost-effective alternative to turned PCB sockets, EZ-Board sockets are designed for SMT assembly and are ideally-suited for high volume applications. The components come in industry-standard tape & reel packaging, allowing them to be automatically placed which minimises installed cost.
The new contacts are stackable on 2.54mm pitch spacing. The design features a two point contact system which ensures secure retention, whilst facilitating easy removal and replacement of the socketedcomponent.

Abracon release ASGTX 1.5GHz High Performance, TCXO/VCTCXO
Abracon announces its ASGTX series of Factory Configurable, High Performance TCXO and VCTCXO’s designed to meet precision TCXO requirements without NRE and long lead- times
Often customers find it difficult to procure custom frequency TCXO/VCTXCO’s without costly NRE charges and long lead-times. The ASGTX can be available within 1-5 days with wide frequency range LVCMOS, LVDS or LVPECL outputs. No other solution offers this capability in a small form-factor (9.0 x 7.0 x 2.24 mm).
ASGTX is suitable for precision timing applications where TCXO/VCTXO’s are employed, and offers flexibility for high frequency LO requirements that SAW oscillators cannot. This product is aimed at customers looking for bespoke frequencies that are not normally available from TCXO’s and higher frequency clocking required for example ASIC’s where we have seen keen interest from designers.

Conductive foam
Kemtron conductive foam is a low density PET and polyurethane foam which is copper + nickel coated throughout giving X,Y and Z axis low resistance electrical conductivity thereby providing excellent EMI shielding
performance when used as an EMI gasket. The material is UL94V- 1flame retardant. It is a low compression sheet gasket material suitable for die cutting to bespoke
shapes or slitting for gasket applications such as I/O panels, backplanes, connectors, access panels. It is available in thicknesses of 1.5mm, 2.3mm and 3.4mm and rolls up to 56cm wide with or without conductive transfer adhesive. Volume resistivity is 0.013-cm and can give a shielding performance of up to 80db at 100MHz and 103db at 1GHz at a recommended compression of 30%. This is a very cost effective and versatile emi shielding gasket material where low compression is required. It will not provide an environmental seal but will limit dust ingress.
