Cable Assemblies from DC to 50GHz manufactured

Weipu range of SF12 connectors from In2Connect

Intelliconnect provides high quality, UK manufactured, bespoke cable assemblies for high-volume or specialist small batch requirements for typically RF applications including test and measurement and defence.

Using their own UK manufactured high quality RF connectors, all types of cable assemblies are undertaken from wiring loom assemblies to high performance low loss cables operating up to 50GHz. Coaxial, triaxial and multi-way connectors may be specified and fully immersible waterproof versions are available. All Intelliconnect cable assemblies are 100% electrically tested before despatch. In addition phase matching is available where required to ensure signal integrity in individual, or batches of, assemblies.

In addition to custom cable assemblies Intelliconnect (Europe) Ltd manufactures a wide range of standard and custom RF connectors and components, including waterproof and fast turnaround custom designs which are undertaken without NRE charges to their customers. Intelliconnect also manufacture a large range of coaxial adaptors to facilitate inter-series connection and gender change etc. Typical applications include MIL and aerospace, marine, oil and gas, medical and general microwave markets.

Low-cost testing for complex boards

Testing for manufacturing faults on complex PCB assemblies has always been a challenging, time-consuming and quite often costly task. However a low-cost technique that is often overlooked is the use of JTAG/Boundary- scan techniques that can often deliver high levels of test coverage at lowest possible cost per board.

If your design features microprocessors, programmable logic (CPLDs , FPGAs), memories, flash I2C and/or SPI parts as well as mixed signal parts such as DACs and ADCs then JTAG/Boundary-scan tools may be the best-value solution for your project. JTAG/Boundary-scan is perfect for testing devices in BGAs and other high density SMD packages as the test patterns come from within the device itself. With

production run-time systems starting at the same cost of a modest ICT test fixture you may wish to take a look at JTAG/Boundary-scan testing for your next design. Contact sales@jtag.co.uk for a design review and fault coverage assessment at any time or check out our web-site www.jtag.com

In2Connect UK is now stocking the Weipu range of SF12 connectors to build an indoor/outdoor interconnects system that offers the performance and reliability of MIL connectors at the cost of a commercial (COTS) product. The SF12 (panel mounting hole size 12mm) series of multi-pin, push-pull coupling connectors will provide IP67 integrity when mated. They are widely used for safe control and power connections between equipment where IP67 is critical, e.g. in broadcast and other applications like LED lights and LED display walls, outdoor security cameras, etc.

The SF12 connector has a self-catching system which is renowned for its easy and quick mating and unmating features. This easy to use, push-pull locking system reduces the time taken to achieve a robust, waterproof lP67 seal by a factor of up to 10 times compared to a traditional screw-thread mechanism. It also provides security against vibration, shock or tensional stress on the cable and facilitates operation in a very limited space. Once firmly latched, connection cannot be broken by pulling on the cable. When required, the connector is disengaged by a single axial pull on the outer release sleeve. It first disengages the latches and then withdraws the plug from the socket. Available with from 2 to 9 contacts ranging from 13A to 3A and rated voltages of 250 or 125 dependant on the chosen planform, the connectors can handle incoming cable diameters from 4 to 8mm.
