WELCOME TO SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO
Welcome to the 2014-2015 San Juan Capistrano Chamber of Commerce Visitors Guide and Business Directory T e theme of this year’s publication is “Experience
San Juan.” At fi rst glance, it may seem to be a generic tag-line, one that’s been used by chambers of commerce across the nation to coax visitors to their communities. In this case though the word “experience” means
more. San Juan Capistrano is a community that can only be truly understood by experiencing it fi rst-hand. No amount of words and pictures can truly illustrate the feeling of being in this charming, historic city in the birthplace of Orange County. San Juan Capistrano off ers a multi-sensory array
of experiences. In our historic community, one can see the majestic Mission San Juan Capistrano with centuries-old buildings spread across a campus fi lled with beautiful gardens. You can hear the distinct chirps of our world-famous swallows every year from March through October. Tastes to please every palate are available at our amazing restaurants which range from world-class fi ne cuisine to authentic, street-food style tacos that are just as fantastic. Children of all ages love touching and petting
the small critters at ZOOMARS, a petting zoo and mini-farm located in the Los Rios Historic District, California’s oldest continually inhabitated residential neighborhood. We’re an equestrian town and proud of it. How many other cities can boast a golf course with a hitching post? If you do come visit one of our great stables and take part in the activities they off er, you’ll understand. Finally, those who believe in a “sixth sense” will
probably love this town even more. T ere’s an inex- plicable magic to so many places here like the 19th Century jail in the basement at El Adobe de Capistrano or the spectacular parks and trails that showcase our region’s natural beauty. Even T e Swallow’s Inn, our town’s beloved watering hole that takes sincere pride in its “honky-tonk dive bar” reputation, has its own magi- cal qualities that make it like no other place on Earth. It’s another over-used cliché but there really is
something for everyone in this great community. On behalf of the San Juan Capistrano Chamber of Com- merce, we invite you to come experience it with us and the many great local businesses you’ll fi nd listed in this publication.
We hope to see you soon, Ann Ronan
