Another advance that reduces wear is a rotary valve with double/symmetrical end stops (see Figure 1). This improved design reduces the ra- dial force imposed on the rotor by the actuator,

eliminating uneven or one-sided wear for im- proved repeatability and longer life.


The biggest advance in GC valve technol- ogy is a design breakthrough that integrates purge capability directly on the valve rotor (see Figure 2). Purging is the most effective way to eliminate leaks and sample loss and
