“Mauritius has plenty to offer the luxury market. We’d recommend the LUX Le Morne, located on

one of the world’s top beaches” Zoe Betchley, Destination Manager, Hayes & Jarvis

Of course for many, what’s outside of the resort is just as important as what’s within, and while the island isn’t huge it makes sense to stay in a region to suit specific interests and needs. Unsurprisingly, most accommodation is around the island’s edge, with easy access to its 160km of beach. The greatest concentration of resorts lies along the northwest coast, from Trou aux Biches to Grand Baie, a natural harbour and lively entertainment centre, with restaurants, bars and shops. The north has a variety of good sandy

beaches and small coves, and the windier east has impressive stretches of white sand, including the perfectly- named Belle Mare. The west enjoys golden sand, safe swimming and incredible sunsets, while nature-lovers will thrill at the spectacular landscapes of the south, especially around Le Morne. With so many choices, deciding where to stay could be tough, but we have a feeling that the biggest challenge of your trip will be having to leave…
