RESOLUTE

“A fellow Oxford coach recently asked me what boat would I race if money were no object and I

could choose any boat in the world. I replied that I would choose the RESOLUTE SuperLight 8+.” CHRIS O’HARA

Head Coach, Oxford University LightWeight Women’s Boat Club

 that we raced them at Cal, we won five national championships and finished in the medals all but one year.” Speaking of durability, in 1996 the US

women’s Olympic eight collided with another boat, splitting the other boat in half. Emerging from the encounter unscathed, the crew recorded a sub-6 minute 2,000 piece just days later in that very hull. In terms of longevity of racing life,

Boat #10, rowed by Community Rowing Inc’s masters women, finished first in the 2010 Head of the Charles and set a new record, proving that the boats can be comfortable and fast more than a decade after production. On the elite level, an eight of the top international

scullers raced a Resolute with their new wing riggers to a victory over the US women’s senior eight at the 2013 Head of the Charles.

Looking to expand Building from loyalty and success in the United States, UK, and Japan, Resolute is looking to expand internationally. The team is anxious for opportunities and tests to continue proving that their racing hulls are fastest, and see their hulls on the starting line of international grand finals. The biggest challenge they foresee is the perception of risk some top-level coaches and athletes may see in racing a new boat. Sturges comments that “It takes guts to be different.” The

Resolute team takes on that challenge every day, looking to expand the realm of innovation in rowing and test their products to prove they are the best. In the words of Joukowsky, “We

want to change the world, the way people perceive themselves and their own potential, the way that people imagine rowing and the way that other people see anyone in wheelchairs.” These final words mark the nuance of their ambitions. While the Resolute team is obsessed with producing the finest crafted racing shells, they aim to provide each crew with a hull strategically designed to enable them to surpass their greatest expectations and ambitions.
