You just know the golf season has truly begun when you see Butch Harmon staring at you through your television screen!


Although the Masters was still a pleasure to watch, the final day really lacked that little bit of tension as the tears inevitably flowed when Bubba Watson eased to a three shot victory. The Players Championship on the other hand was a real spectacle and it was encouraging to see Kaymer, Garcia and Rose all featuring in the top four. One would imagine this was music to the ears of one Paul McGinley.


Let’s hope the terrific start to the season we have seen helps golfers get back on the course for 2014. Early indications from SMS Inc. imply that this is has already happened with the number of rounds up by 17% for January 2014. Whether this translate into sales is another matter but it’s an encouraging start at least…
