• T e interior of the casting contains 13 0.03-in. to 0.07- in. thin blades attached to the motor housing in the main case. T e blades provide aerodynamics to produce a laminar fl uid fl ow and also act as a heat sink.
• T e investment casting process enabled the unit to be cast as a single piece, which also includes a mounting platform for a motor drive, an inlet fl ange for attach- ment to a condenser, and clevises to mount the unit.
