Starting in early April, Emily
Portman has taken the reigns from the recently retired Geoff Speed, on BBC Radio Merseyside’s Folkscene, one of the longest running BBC folk programmes, which has been broadcast continuously since the 60s with the same presenters! Emily will be sharing the role with long-time presenter Stan Ambrose on alternate weeks. The programme goes out on Sundays at 4pm.

Womex has announced its 2015 host city (21st – 25th October) as Budapest, Hungary. The 2014 event is in Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, Spain (22nd – 26th Oct).
