France along the western edge of Provence... an endless expanse of tall grass and swampy marshland known for its beautiful white horses and the prized black bulls they raise here. The best of the bulls are chosen for the course camarguaise, the popular and humane Provençal bull games in which players attempt to grab paper tokens, or attributs, from the bulls’ horns. It’s all part of a proud and colorful Provençal tradition that you’ll learn about firsthand when a local family hosts you at their ranch in la Camargue for a lunch of Provençal specialties, wine, music and fun – and an exciting demonstration of skill and daring between the bulls and the cowboys.

dates back to the days of Napoleon I, who ordered the creation of 30 breeding farms across the nation, including the centre at Cluny; it comprises historic structures built between 1814 and 1880. A dressage demonstration showcasing the synchronized skills of horse and rider is sure to be a highlight of your visit. After lunch, meet your riverboat in Trévoux and continue on our cruise to Lyon.
