Fall River Foundry Revamps Molding
Te Fall River Foundry, Fall River,
Wis., awarded Equipment Merchants International a contract to build a new automatic molding machine and mold handling system. Along with the new molding line, the foundry has installed a redesigned molding sand system with increased capacities and controls. Tis is part of a $2.5 million plant expansion. Te new molding process will
increase capacity, allowing the company to be more versatile to the nonferrous jobbing markets it currently serves. Fall River Foundry, a division of the Fall River Group, has served the water works industry for more than 60 years. ■

has received an ISO 9001:2008 Manage- ment System certificate for the manufac- ture and supply of ferrous castings. ■
Aluminum Continuous Caster Debuts in IN Nanshan America–Advanced Alu-
minum Technologies, Lafayette, Ind., has begun operations after fast track- ing the design and construction of the Nanshan America Lafayette plant. It is fully commissioned and now casting 6xxx alloy log and billet for internal consumption and external sales. “A tremendous amount of long hours
and hard work from our dedicated group of technical staff and contractors have gone into the construction of our cast house,” said General Manager Eric Angermeier. “It’s a thrill to see it in full operation. We are looking forward to establishing partners for our log and billet products along with continued success in building our extrusion busi- ness with our 5K and 9.2K ton presses.” Te green-field aluminum continuous
casting facility is designed to produce aluminum log and billet in 8, 10, 12, 14, and 18-in. diameters with lengths up to
300 inches. Te initial capacity is 300 million pounds of billet and log annually. Operating a 5,000-ton and a 9,200-ton press, the company primar- ily serves the transportation, electrical, machinery and distribution markets. ■
