Chromalloy Acquires Turbine Component Maker Trac Group Chromalloy, Palm Beach Gar-
dens, Fla., a leading supplier of gas turbine engine component repairs, coatings and castings, has acquired Trac Group, a Tier One component supplier to the aerospace and energy industries. Headquartered in Crewe, U.K., Trac Group employs about 400 people and has production facilities in the U.K. and Mexico. Chromalloy
facilities include operations, annexes and sales offices in 17 countries. “Chromalloy’s acquisition of Trac
Group is in line with our strategy to increase our support for the new engine supply chain,” said Carlo Luzzatto, president, Chromalloy. “Chromalloy and Trac, both industry leaders, together offer the original equipment manufacturers a global
source of component production and repair.” Trac Group provides design, en-
gineering and manufacturing of high and low pressure complex turbine components including blades, seg- ments and vanes for the engine hot section. As a supplier of new com- mercial aircraft engines and power generation systems, Trac Group pro- duces components for Rolls-Royce, Snecma, Alstom, Siemens and other manufacturers. Te company will retain its brand name and be referred to as “A Chromalloy Company.” Terry Russett, managing director,
Trac Group, called the combination a “win-win for equipment manufac- turers, which demand innovation, quality and performance both in the supply chain and the aftermarket.” Te companies are privately held and the terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Chromalloy is a subsidiary of Sequa Corp., a Carlyle Group company with operations in the aerospace, energy and metal coatings industries. ■
