Compact suspended heaters Powrmatic’s new compact NVx 90s suspended gas unit heater features a narrow design that makes it ideal for delivering energy-efficient space heating in closely-racked warehouses. The NVx 90s has a width of just 1575mm, while retaining the 90kW heat output and 92% efficiency of the standard NVx 90 model. This has been achieved by reconfiguring the layout

of the burners and heat exchanger, enabling the unit to provide optimum heat distribution within 2m-wide aisles - thereby improving both comfort and efficiency in these applications.

All Powrmatic NVx models are available for use with natural gas or LPG and can be supplied in on-off, high-low or modulating options. Powrmatic

Hydor keeps karting site ventilated An innovative approach to ventilation by Hydor has ensured that the UK’s largest indoor karting venue is free from exhaust fumes at a significantly lower cost than by adopting the conventional route of employing axial flow fans. When the owners of Capital Karts looked into the best way of removing the fumes generated by the LPG kart engines at its 8,500m2 venue in Essex, Hydor provided the optimum solution.

Karting tracks are notoriously difficult to ventilate. The conventional way is to use direct drive plate mounted axial flow fans but a large number of fans is required to keep the carbon monoxide (CO) levels generated by the karts to an acceptable level. Instead, Hydor used HV1250 fans, designed to ventilate areas such as larger farm buildings in which significant quantities of air need to be moved at low pressure, using minimal amounts of energy. This meant that only six fans were required, removing the polluted air at 70m3/s and drawing in fresh air from openings on the opposite side of the building to ensure a comfortable environment, even when the RiMO karts are travelling at speeds of over 45mph. Low surface temperature radiators The Warmac-Radiator brand of high output natural convectors and low surface temperature radiators is being launched by UK manufacturing group AGM Plc. The range has options to suit most applications and budgets.

Features include: factory assembled casings with aluminium grilles; a choice of purpose designed energy efficient emitters; round edged single piece steel covers with punched grilles; soft corner technology; and anti-microbial surface treatment and LST compliance. Also available are fully NHS compliant models and models designed to optimise lower flow and return temperatures associated with environmentally friendly hot water sources. The range is being promoted through a new website which includes a schedule builder that can be emailed directly to a number of merchant depots nationwide or via O S Locke in Colchester, an AGM Group subsidiary. The schedule builder shows the radiator outputs at flow /return/ room temperatures that are user defined, to ensure that products selected meet the design criteria. Choices of control options are also available with all TRV options being manufactured by Oventrop which are fully Keymark approved and have an ‘A’ rated TELL (Thermostatic Efficiency Label).
