tools and platforms, my strong negotiation skills and sales experience complemented by flexibility, creativity and the willingness to take risks will help me to do a great job.

Did the MBMC help to give you additional business experience and skills? Inspiration, motivation, innovation, ideas and insights – these are the words that characterise MBMC for me the best. I attended the course in 2007, when as the advertising director of Marquard Media, I felt that I was ready to take the next step and wanted to broaden my knowledge about other aspects of publishing. The course was a great opportunity not only to learn but to socialise with interesting industry people. Besides the knowledge I gained and the strategies and tactics I learnt, I made useful professional connections and a few good friends. And how did it

Magazine Brand Management Certificate THE MAGAZINE BRAND MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATE (MBMC) development programme was launched in 2005, with the help from FIPP’s loyal sponsor UPM, and since then has equipped magazine managers from around the world with the knowledge and skills required to successfully manage and grow their magazine media brands. Now running its 10th programme in 2014, FIPP has seen more than 200 participants from some 30+ countries attend the course. Many graduates of the programme have developed a strong professional network from their time on the course and have gone on to significantly develop their careers, just like Zsuzsanna.

Executive Programme for

Innovation and Change For magazine media executives with significant management and strategic responsibilities, FIPP has a new course in July 2014 – the EXECUTIVE PROGRAMME FOR INNOVATION AND CHANGE (EPIC). If you are a CEO or a board member of a small or medium sized enterprise, or a divisional-level executive at larger company you should attend this programme to challenge your thinking and enable you to create a dynamic and prosperous future for your business.

The programme will give you insights into the global magazine publishing environment. It will push and encourage you to think differently. Allowing you the space to consider the challenges of our industry and the impact this is having on your business; it will empower you, with other global leaders, to creatively discover strategies that will help you to foster innovation and lead your company forward.

This is your opportunity to join in a programme led by a world-class business faculty. It will draw on a range of case studies from many industries, including those that have successfully transitioned into the digital sphere, but naturally with strong input from high-level magazine media experts from around the world. EPIC has been designed in conjunction with Oxford University’s Saïd Business School, and the all-inclusive five-day residential programme will take place at Saïd Business School, only two miles from Oxford city centre in the UK.

help my professional performance? Shortly after I finished the course I was appointed publisher.

What would you say are the main skills that publishing chiefs need today? The ability to adapt to the ever-changing world of publishing is of key importance for every publishing chief. To keep our business growing

and successful we have to be an economic prognosticator, an effective integrator, inspirational leader and goal setter, psychologist, skilled negotiator, strategic planner and teacher all in one person – just like Donald Kummerfeld (president and CEO of FIPP between 2001-2009) said at the opening seminar of the MBMC.

Where and how do you hope to lead your team? Our aim is to make the life of our readers and users more colourful, interesting and complete with our portfolio of lifestyle brands – either by print or any of our digital platforms. I strongly believe that Marquard Media Hungary as the market leading premium content provider in Hungary will look forward to positive growth in 2014 by offering our premium audiences outstanding, authoritative, multi-platform content and our business partners innovative, professional and flexible solutions.
