While now 10 years old, the flight experience of Real Flight G3 (above left) was impressive for its time. Real Flight’s tagline of “True To Life” is pretty close to fact in this latest version. A great shot (above right) of the graphics quality of 10 years ago. While a good tool for the time, it is easily surpassed by what we have today. Welcome to easy parameter selection (below left) and a huge number of options. The ease of selection and intuitive nature of the interface
make logging in a pleasant experience. The menu bar on the left is identical to the drop down tabs above (below right), but accessible from the Menu button on the transmitter, as well as your mouse. Scenarios, aircraft, airstrips, gadgets, binoculars and view screens are all there for the taking without taking your hands off the transmitter! The realism of the trees and shelter can also be appreciated.
The “complete” package consists of RealFlight 7, an InterLink Elite controller (by Futaba) and a connection cord to allow you to connect your FM transmitter through the InterLink controller. Unfortunately, 2.4 GHz transmitters will not work. As you can see (above), Futaba uses one of their production transmitters to house the InterLink electronics. If you have G4, 5 or 6, this software-only upgrade (at right) allows you to experience the newest and fastest of its simulators inexpensively.
