New hazardous area fluorescent luminaires
he EVS fluorescent luminaires and emergency lighting for hazardous areas have been introduced to the UK market under the DTS brand by Thomas & Betts. The EVS range comprises of a wide range of fluorescent and emergency lighting solutions that can be specified and used together throughout a hazardous area site. This allows new lighting schemes to be created more easily for sectors such as the oil and gas industries, food & beverage production, chemicals and pharmaceutical processing, power generation as well as many other hazardous areas. For the site manager, maintenance regimes are also much easier to carry out and spare parts stocking can be minimised due to the easily removable gear tray. DTS products are renowned for
T their quality of
manufacture and the EVS fluorescent luminaires have a number of advantages. These include a main body construction of glass reinforced polyester, for high impact resistance, and a polycarbonate diffuser that has been designed to resist harsh and corrosive environments.

or applications where high current loads need to be switched but power is limited, Finder’s 67 Series 50A, high capacity PCB relay efficiently minimises coil power dissipation. The relay has a high continuous current contact rating of 50A, and peak current of 150A (5msec), providing two and three pole NO double break contacts. Developed for inverters with DC inputs up to 1500V and AC outputs up to 690V, and with a 3mm or 5.2mm contact gap according to VDE 0126-1-1, EN 62109-1 & 2 regulations, the 67 Series satisfies the arduous
requirements of equipment is also suitable designed to meet the increasing
demand for solar energy, particularly in remote locations and at high altitudes (up to 4000m above sea level). The relay
for use in photovoltaic inverters, battery-
operated or portable systems, domestic appliances and for 3 phase motor loads up to 7kW.

productivity in the field. The new infrared cameras feature LaserSharp™ Auto Focus, using a laser to pinpoint exactly where the camera should focus for precisely focused images every time - see video at
www.fluke.co.uk/lasersharp. The rugged Fluke Ti200, Ti300 and Ti400 will soon be able to connect to the Fluke CNX™ Wireless system, allowing them to be used as a main unit to view live measurements from up to five wireless modules (e.g. AC current or voltage modules) on its screen, and integrate the data into the infrared image. They feature wireless connectivity to easily transfer images from the cameras directly to PCs, an Apple® iPad® or iPhone® which can then be imported into Fluke SmartView® software, a professional suite of analysis and reporting tools for optimising and analysing infrared images and producing professional reports.

Panel mounting desiccators give assured protection
rownell Ltd panel mounted desiccators have been designed to protect all kinds of electronic and electrical equipment against corrosion, dampness and contamination. Reducing any existing or incoming moisture to acceptable levels, will remove these problems. Saturation indicators built-in to the units show when reactivation or replacement is required. These plastic units use powerful adsorbing agents, either silica gel or molecular

indicators are blue when the humidity adsorber is dry and turn pink when the maximum amount of moisture has been adsorbed. The
silica gel adsorbers can be
reactivated for re-use, by heating them at 100ºC (212ºF) for 4 hours in a ventilated oven. Molecular sieve adsorbers maintain an ultra-low relative humidity for extremely sensitive applications and cannot be reactivated. particularly useful

hen specifying for two London Borough of Ealing schools, Balfour Beatty Engineering Services (BBES) opted for Marshall-Tufflex’s CAT 6 compliant Twin165 and Sterling Profile 1, designed to meet the needs of schools with large power and data requirements. The £30m re-building of Dormers Wells High School has provided pupils with the latest ICT facilities where Marshall-Tufflex’s Twin165 PVC-U trunking was installed with and DDA compliant accessory boxes.
W Twin165 is a medium-sized
trunking with split compartments, it has greater capacity than traditional similar-sized trunking systems
plus Tufflex’s its bend radius of 50mm, with
adjustable internal and external bends enables the delivery of large power and data services. For Cardinal Wiseman Catholic School, Marshall- three-compartment

trunking was chosen. The first phase new-build was to be followed by later refurbishments to the existing school, therefore a compatible system was required.
