What was growing up like for you with Mum and Dad in show business and Alice following close behind? When I was a young boy if my parents were working on the stage I would often sit quietly in the audience and watch their show. I saw some of their shows plenty of times. Alice now being in the same business is great. When we were growing up together it was all she wanted to do so her success brings me nothing but happiness and makes me very proud of her.
With family roots in Liverpool we have to ask, are you red or blue? For my sins I’m actually a Chelsea fan. My grandpa, who worked the turnstiles of Anfield and was a massive Liverpool fan,
is buried only a stone’s throw away from Stamford Bridge, so whenever the reds come to town we always make sure to have a drink for him. My Mum’s side of the family are all big Liverpool fans so we have plenty to discuss. My greatest memory of Anfield was when I went to the 2005 Champions League semi final second leg when Luis Garcia scored, that was of course before goal line technology was introduced! It’s always amazing to visit one of the capitals of world football - a very special stadium and the kop singing You’ll Never Walk Alone on a European night is what football is all about. My grandma recently turned 90 and she now lives in London so everyone came down from Liverpool and we had a very special evening.
