CWM Introduces Diecasting Design App Chicago White Metal Casting Inc.
(CWM), Bensenville, Ill., developed a free app for OEM engineers working on a design for diecasting. Created by CWM engineer Max
Gondek and systems technician Will Ewing, “DC_Calc” converts measure- ments into tolerances based on feature
size, tool design and alloy. Conver- sions are based on North American Die Casting Association (NADCA) standards. Te calculator provides tolerances for linear dimensions, part- ing lines, moving die components, angularity, concentricity, parting line shift and flatness.
NEWSCAST Clinkenbeard, Rockford, Ill., re-
cently purchased a new six-axis metrol- ogy arm that allows for onsite measur- ing and inspection of castings without having to move them, increasing the speed of its rapid prototyping.
