Paul E. Wilke Jr., 76, of Kings- bury, died Aug. 6. He was born


in Kingsbury on Sept. 1, 1936, to Paul A. Wilke and Elizabeth Wilde Wilke Habermann. He began ranching in Kingsbury at the age of 15 and later ranched with his son T.J. at the Wilke Cattle Company. He is survived by his children

Wilke and wife, and Audra Schulz and husband; siblings Lawrence Wahl, Katherine Lewis and husband Herman “Bub” Wilke, and William Wilke and wife; grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. 87, of San Isidro, died Aug. 13 in Mission. He was born Aug. 10, 1926, at San Pedro Ranch to Mar- celino and Beatriz Alaniz. He was a lifelong rancher and served as a Starr County Commissioner for more than 25 years. He served in the U.S. Army


during the Korean War and was decorated with 3 combat stars. Active in many organizations, he had served as president of the South Texas Judges and Commis- sioners Association, director of the National Association of Coun- ties and director of the First State Bank of Premont. He is survived by his children


Rosa del Carmen Richie, Blanca A. Rodriguez, Reynaldo Martin Alaniz, and Eduardo Marcelino Alaniz; and grandchildren.
