on the Go

New convenient fast food outlet Salad Bowl create an urban market place using Forbo’s Eternal Wood.

Healthy Food

Situated in the heart of Liverpool’s business district is a new convenient fast‐ food outlet, Salad Bowl, a healthy‐eating fast‐food outlet, which opened at the end of 2012 after Matt Cole and Adam Meyers won the Barclay’s One Small Step competition for best business idea. Crave ID Interior Designers were given the brief ‘healthy food on the go’ to create the interior and using a combination of city and rural materials they created a concept of an ‘urban market place’. They used Forbo’s Eternal Wood throughout the store which included seating and food preparation areas.

Crave ID Interior Designers said “We decided to use products from Forbo’s Eternal Wood collection, in warm chestnut, and from the Eternal Palette collection in the bright green colourway Apple – to integrate Salad Bowl’s branding into the floor.”

Crave ID continues: “Forbo’s Eternal collection offers a wide range of designs and colours, but importantly it also incorporates an R10 slip resistance that meets the requirements of ISO 10582 and EN 649 – making it ideal for this project where there is the need to protect staff

and customers from the slip hazards associated with food and drink spillages.” Quantity surveyor at Krol Corlett Construction Dan Tebay, who undertook the internal fit out of Salad Bowl, commented: “Forbo offers great, reliable service as well as excellent quality products that can be easily installed, hence why we have used Forbo on many, various projects. The flooring installed on this project really sets off the Salad Bowl branding, which looks great and helps to pull together the integrated design concept”

Salad Bowl’s Founder and Director Matt Cole said: “We couldn’t be happier with the interior design of Salad Bowl and the flooring in particular has been great, with excellent performance properties and a bright, fresh design. It’s also easy to clean, which means we can spend less money on maintenance and more money on providing our customers with high quality food.”
