Amari Plastics, the UK’s leading distributor of plastic sheets, films, rods, tubes and shapes to the retail sector is delighted to announce the launch of its first composite panel, Illuminati®.

Manufactured in the UK the Illuminati® panels are a honeycomb composite panel made primarily from combinations of acrylic and polycarbonate, although 100% Polycarbonate and Polyester / Polycarbonate variations are available. Incredibly light weight but immensely strong, the panels can be used in decorative backlighting solutions such as shelving, partitions, back lit walls, furniture and robust POS / POP applications. Illuminati® panels can be used wherever you can find an application that requires rigidity, transparency and a low weight to strength ratio.

Manufactured in the UK using the highest quality face and honeycomb core materials in combination with a unique adhesive and coating technology. The resultant product offers an aesthetically pleasing panel with incredible strength which allows it to be used for a myriad of applications.

Primarily designed as a decorative interior panel, it is often use used in conjunction with some form of lighting to illuminate and enhance the environment. The combination of T7 honeycomb tubes or B47 bubble, with the clear structural resin, produces an optical quality panel that can be cut and shaped to your desired size and shape. Manufactured and held in several standard ranges, the product is versatile enough to be made in bespoke colours and finishes for a small minimum order quantity. The key variant is the face material which can vary from cast or extruded acrylics, speciality acrylics, polyesters or Polycarbonate. The core remains consistent in that it is always

Polycarbonate - which offers a high degree of fire resistance and toughness. Unlike many of the European honeycomb panels, the Illuminati range is made in the common UK panel thickness of 18mm and in sheet sizes of 3050 x 1220mm and 2440 x 1220mm, which suit standard building practices and fits better with standard profile systems.

The acrylic sheets used in the production of Illuminati® are mostly warranted for 10 years against UV degradation. However, speciality products like Radiant and Mirror carry shorter warranty periods. The Polyester and Polycarbonate faces are also available in grades warranted for 10 years against UV degradation and impact resistance - please consult with your local Amari Plastics sales office for further details.

Samples and technical information are available from your local Amari Plastics branch and we can help you with guidance on cutting, bending and converting the product.
