MOUNTAIN LAYERS k l river that runs through it. n o

No visit to Sundance is complete without a stop at the famed Owl Bar, the resort’s 1890s-style watering hole with an authentic rosewood bar that once stood in Thermopolis, Wyoming. Word is, Butch Cassidy’s Hole-in- the-Wall Gang used to gather around this very piece of history, hoisting a few and planning their next escapade. Trust us to carry on that tradition—but with decidedly better food and spirits and the promise of some live music. Whatever your pleasure, Sundance offers all the amenities of a true destination—a hidden retreat tucked into a magical landscape. A place to commune with nature, with yourself,

Bright colors and bold patterns dominate mountain fashion today. Dressing for success in the mountains is key for your comfort. A puff y jacket, either synthetic or down, usually stands up well in Utah's dry climate. Layers are your best friend— don't shy away from alpaca or wool—great temperature regulators. Despite the fact that many Utah resorts average over 500 inches of snow each winter, don't be surprised to see the sun. Interchangeable goggle lenses are not gimicky and really keep your eyeballs happy. Skiing at 10,000 feet, the only way you'll avoid the burn (not in the legs) is with an honest sunscreen application.
