CONTRIBUTORS
Dan Campbell
Park City–based photographer Dan Campbell has made Utah home for the past 25 years. Dan is most comfortable behind the lens creating award-winning images of action sports, lifestyle, fashion or alpenglow on a snow covered peak, but riding his mountain bike or sharing a lift ride with his daughters keeps a smile on his face, too. A long time contributor to Ski Utah, he also shoots for SKI magazine, ESPN, Rossignol and Specialized. Dan wrangled the Sundance fashion shoot on page 79.
Pamela M. Olson
Pamela Martinson Olson has followed Utah’s food scene since the late 1990s, when she was an editor at Salt Lake magazine and frequently salivated while reviewing that publication’s dining guide. Much has improved since then (see page 44), enough to keep her plenty busy as Ski Utah’s food blogger. She is also a frequent contributor to Park City magazine, Utah Business and Salt Lake/Park City Bride & Groom, and was the executive editor of Utah Homes & Garden. When not on the slopes, Olson enjoys fly-fishing Utah’s rivers and working as a professional florist.
Melissa Fields
Fifteen years ago, native Michigander Melissa Fields came to spend “just one winter” in Park City. Fields had the chance to sit down with five characters in the community who came to play for “one winter” (see page 73). A husband, mortgage and two kids later, she still hasn’t managed to make that return trip. This summer she took the helm at Park City magazine as editor. When not at the keyboard, Melissa likes to make Tram laps at Snowbird, log miles on her road bike and hang out with her family.
Jeremy Pugh
Consulting editor Jeremy Pugh is a veteran of the media and the cultural landscape of Salt Lake City and the Intermountain West. Currently a freelancer for Sunset and publishing consultant, Pugh was previously editor of Salt Lake magazine. This issue, Pugh sits down with Ski Utah president Nathan Rafferty to discuss Interconnect, a concept to connect all seven of the Wasatch resorts (see page 41). When not working with Ski Utah magazine, he’s an avid hiker, ski enthusiast and road cyclist.
Kristen Gould Case
This season, Kristen Gould Case celebrates her 27th year as a Park City resident, where she and her husband have raised two sons on the ski slopes. Since both boys surpassed Kristen’s skiing abilities long ago, she now believes that the most dangerous phrase in the English language is “Follow me, Mom.” Follow Kristen on page 49 as she shares family tips. Kristen recently retired as editor of Park City magazine after 16 years so that she has more time to ski and write for national publications.
Virginia Rainey
A Salt Lake native who detoured to San Francisco for 20 years and then returned, Virginia Rainey has been writing about travel, spas, good food and the people who produce it for more than 25 years. Rainey weighs in on the good life on page 35. A full-time freelance copywriter, she also writes for a variety of publications, from Park City to Sunset magazines. She co-authored California: The Beautiful Cookbook and is the Utah editor for the Zagat Restaurant Survey and America’s Top Restaurants.
