RWM Profiles Olympus Industrial

Piercing the detector of a portable XRF instrument is a major concern for most owner/users of metal recycling or manufacturing companies using handheld XRF analysers. The dangers of testing sharps or turnings

in an industrial environment are well known, and to ensure the most uptime and cost effectiveness of any analytical equipment, protection and training are paramount to your business. The introduction of an easy-to-use, safe

method of protecting the business end of an analyser was needed, and Olympus has been working hard on a solution to this problem - the Window Guard. This revolutionary product is inexpensive and

Eriez Europe

Eriez Europe will take the opportunity to introduce at the RWM exhibition (Hall 19 Stand P19-N18) the Eriez Xpress programme as well as presenting its new eddy current separator (ECS) RevX-E ST22. The new Eriez Xpress programme will

enable the faster processing of customer requirements. Gareth Meese, sales director at Eriez Europe explained: “This new programme gives customers the opportunity to purchase some of the industry’s most popular products ex-stock. It’s a perfect solution for situations where there is no room for delay.” The productsmade available for express

shipment are the ProGrade range of grates, tubes, traps, bullets and drum magnets as well as vibratory feeders, standard overband permanent and electro-magnets and rotors for eddy current separators. A Prograde ferrite axial magnetic drum will

be available for immediate sale, straight from the stand. The Prograde ferrite drum is an ideal first stage separator for coarse material recovery in material recycling facilities (MRFs),

providing cleaner recyclables and increasing ferrous metal recovery. Eriez’s stand will also feature two eddy

current separators, equipped with the new rotor designs, the RevX-E ST2 and ST22, used for the removal of non-ferrous materials from fine waste material; the EZ-TEC 9100 metal detection unit, ideal for the detection

and rejection of ferrous and nonferrous fine particles, and the Metalarm MA3500 bridge coil metal detector. Eriez’s presence at RWM is an extension of the company’s commitment to the recycling and waste industry.

simple to use, without compromising the analytical performance of the instrument. Replacing damaged windows with makeshift thicker material, which in turn could affect your analysis, in a crude attempt to offer greater protection to your analyser, is now a thing of the past. Window Guard can withstand some of

the most dangerous environments. It’s easy to fit, and offers peace of mind

when testing ‘turnings’, ‘swarf’, ‘chips’ or ‘sharps’ of any kind. This solution could ensure that your instrument stays operational for as long as possible, when the going gets tough. Simply apply the Window Guard, select the appropriate calibration mode in the

instrument’s software and carry out your analysis.

Olympus continues to innovate, improving the usability of the instruments they design and manufacture. By listening to the comments of its customers, this ensures that Olympus provides the most robust instruments to deal with the toughest of environments. Other leading edge Olympus testing technologies include remote visual inspection, microscopy, ultrasound, phased array, eddy current, eddy current array, x-ray fluorescent and diffraction, high speed video and optical metrology.

Master Magnets

In recent years, the RWM show has proved to be the most successful show on Master Magnet’s calendar and always promises to deliver a high number of quality visitors. This year at RWM, Master Magnets have

opted to showcase their products on their largest stand to date. Located on the front aisle, near the main

entrance (Stand 17F19), the company will be demonstrating a range of metal separation and detection solutions that are commonly used for ferrous and non-ferrous recovery. An ‘Eccentric’ eddy current separator will

be shown separating non-ferrous particles from various recyclable product streams such as plastics and wood chip. A self-cleaning overband magnet will also be on the stand. The overband magnet is commonly used

in the recycling industry for the continuous removal of tramp ferrous metals from a conveyed product stream. To complement the range of separation

equipment on show, Metal Detection Ltd (part of the Master Magnets group of companies) will be demonstrating a ‘tunnel-type’ metal detector on a conveyor. The QDC metal detector can be applied to a wide range of industries for final protection against ferrous and non-ferrous contaminants, down to 1mm. We look forward to meeting with many

new and existing customers in September and hope to see you there.

“DON’T WASTE WASTE!”

There are resources hidden in our communities.

Commercial and industrial (C&I) waste contains recyclable fractions such as plastics, paper and cardboard as well as  lm. Recovering them is worthwhile as you obtain a saleable product and the market for these materials (compared with primary resources) is on the increase.

Using sensor-based sorting technology it is now possible to sort even highly variable streams with very high recovery and purity rates.

You name it – we sort it.
