Multiplex TUCAN
An exciting scale-like model that will take your flying experience to the next level!
By Peter Serafini PHOTOGRAPHY: LORI FARBER D 26
espite the lack of an “o” at the end of its name, the Tucan bears a striking resem- blance to the Embraer Tucano. The Tu- cano was developed in the 1970s for train- ing the jet jockeys of various militaries. Previous jet
trainers were ... well, jets; but as oil prices in the 1970s were increasing, it became difficult to justify burning 150–200 gallons per hour of training. The Tucano pro- vided jet-like handling in a fast, fully aerobatic yet rel- atively economical platform.
