Lee Goodnight L
ee Goodnight is an ACA Essentials of Canoe Touring Instructor Trainer, Essentials of
River Canoeing Instructor and Kayak Touring Instructor from Green Cove Springs, Florida. Lee was an Eagle Scout in the class of
1963, and earned his canoeing merit badge in 1960. When he was 14 years old, he mowed lawns to save enough money to respond to an advertisement in Boys’ Life Magazine enticing readers to “Glide like an Indian in your Chippewa Canoe.” Lee built a Chippewa wood frame, fiberglass and canvas canoe to use for fishing, skin and SCUBA diving, and to win over the ladies in high school and college. He currently is a cosmetologist and hair salon owner, whose favorite place to paddle is Everglades National Park. Lee credits his paddling skills and learning
to several ACA instructors, including Randy Drake and Becky Molina. Lee has been volunteering his paddling instruction skills and experience to benefit the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America for over 25 years, and is an active member of the Seminole Canoe and Kayak Club located in Jacksonville, FL.
