canoe-camping this week-end!
L
ast minute urge? Here’s the plan: Pack your gear, including the dog,
put your canoe on your car and show up at Canot-camping La Vérendrye. There will be space for you, guaranteed. How’s that possible? There are no reservations for circuits or campsites in advance so you can choose your route when you register at our office. With 20 prede- fined canoe routes, mostly loops ran- ging from two to 10 days, plus all the routes you can design yourself, you are sure to find something that suits your preferences. There are no entrance or parking fees and if you arrive after 8 p.m., just pitch your tent next to the lake in front of the canoe-camping office in Le Domaine and register the next morning.
If you need to rent a canoe or camping gear, call us to reserve. Even at the last minute, we usually have availa- bility. Why make it complicated when it’s simple?
Featured trip : Antostagan Circuit #11 - 34 km, approx. 2 days D
espite its name, which means portage in the Algonquin language, this perfect two-day loop
has only five short portages. The longest is 330 meters and two portages are only there to go around the class I and II rapids, for those who don’t like whitewater.
There are many campsites to choose from along the way, from wide beaches to rocks and pine trees. Don’t miss swimming at the bottom of the small waterfall!
