Eager to help

The student-run Year 10 Charity Committee has recently collected £1000 for their chosen charity, the Laniado Hospital in Israel, to purchase a medical infusion pump

that administers medication to patients during surgery

The Charity Committee presented the cheque to the UK based representatives of Laniado UK,

Simon Silver and Paul Greenberg. The money was raised during a special lunchtime quiz for students as well as during Yom Ha’Atzmaut celebrations in school.

Fun Run in the Sun

In a place where Jewish children are abandoned, abused and die on the streets, there is a miraculous place giving life and love. It is called Tikva Orphanage in Odessa, Ukraine.

JFS has had a long and successful relationship with Tikva. Each year, students from Year 13 spend a weekend in Odessa to witness and participate in the tremendous work that is done there. The students always come back inspired to do more in London, having seen the fruits of their fundraising endeavours in Odessa.

The JiEP (Jewish Informal Education Programme) department, together with several students, joined in this year’s Community Fun Run, as they did last year, to raise much needed funds for the orphanage. This year they managed to raise a very healthy £2000.

We congratulate the many JFS students who ran for a wide variety of causes. The run was completed with the cheers of family and friends along the route.
