Balanced corn rig
There is one bait that I base all my bream fi shing around and that is sweetcorn. Bream love sweetcorn and some of my biggest fi sh have fallen to a balanced corn rig. The types of corn available from
Enterprise Tackle include the standard version and a new Super Soft version which is very life-like and supplied with special integrated hair stops. Both are available in sinking and buoyant versions. My successful rig is very simple to tie and consists of a simple knotless knot using a piece of supple braid. It is important to thread a piece of sinking corn onto the hair fi rst, followed by a piece of buoyant corn. This will help the hook bait sit up off the bottom. How much is popped-up is determined by the length of the hair. I like to use a size 10 Talon Tip hook with this rig as the weight of the hook is perfectly balanced out by the hook bait. Enterprise Tackle imitation baits take on
fl avour very well. I often carry various assorted corn in small bottles, the new Betalin corn comes highly recommended!
