In the new amendment a date prior to the date of fi ling of the request can be the starting date of the invalidity if the grounds that have given cause to establish non-use were present already at that earlier date and have remained unchanged until the date of fi ling the petition.
• In addition to existing professions, medical doctors, veterinary surgeons, biologists, mathematicians and information technologists can also qualify as patent attorneys if they comply with the general requirements.
• T e scope of activity of patent attorneys was broadened to deal with infringement of copyright and database protection rights of

programs, databases, works made by information technology and plans of technical establishments.
