PARTY TIL 9PM MONDAY!

JOIN US ON LATE-OPENING MONDAY FOR LIVE MUSIC SESSIONS FROM MUSICITY – AND TUNES FROM KARIM RASHID TOO...

MUSICITY

Musicity is a unique online platform founded and curated by DJ Nick Luscombe of BBC Radio 3/Flomotion and creative strategist Simon Jordan of Jump Studios. It encourages people to explore cities musically, architecturally and experientially by commissioning original tracks in response to a building or area of the city. The recordings can only be heard by visiting the locations and streaming the tracks through a purpose-built smart phone app – making urban exploration a vital component of the musical experience. Musicity will discuss in the Conversation Series how sonic design can transform interaction with a building or interior – and go on to DJ and host live performances. A unique piece of music, inspired by the event, will be available to download on site.

A NEW PERSPECTIVE – AMAZING BARS

Ten student groups from the Royal College of Art’s MA Interior Design programme were shortlisted to design the DX and Champagne Bars. Tasked with the challenge to create lively hubs with a distinct design aesthetic, the bars had to be places where visitors could meet up, relax, refl ect and re-energise, as well as dynamic spaces with visual impact that took temporality and sustainability into account. Project groups were guided by guest tutors and experts including Tomoko Azumi, Chiara Ferrari, Rachel Forster and Ian Higgins and led by Ab Rogers, head of the RCA’s Interior Design programme. The winning designs? See these stunning structures for yourself as you relax and enjoy...
