In 2004, ID:SR, the interior design branch of London architectural practice Sheppard Robson was appointed to help select a new headquarters building for Burges Salmon, a leading commercial law fi rm in Bristol. The new offi ces in One Glass Wharf were completed in 2010. The striking atrium space features hm93 sofas, daybed and benches, with hm17 and hm18 sofas used in breakout and meeting areas throughout the building.

Parisian Elegance for Christian Dior

Christian Dior’s redesigned fl agship building in New York City has attracted very favourable attention from architectural critics, fashionistas, magazine editors and high-end shoppers. Many have commented on the unique façade of the store which is “glowingly” illuminated with Rosco LitePads, giving it the kind of “hint of Paris elegance” the design team required. Rosco’s LitePads are an LED source that provide a soft, even light, can be custom-made into virtually any size or shape and are only 8mm thick – a good choice for the Dior store. They fi t in between the existing struts on the façade, behind a series of decorative metal sheets and fabric cannage patterns. Roscolux 3216 (colour fi lter) was laminated to the acrylic LitePad cover. The soft even light of Rosco’s LitePads, the slim profi le of the lights and the ability to fabricate them in various sizes make them key ingredients for any lighting project that needs to be elegant, interesting and sustainable.

Frosty white Amica furniture gives an airy, minimalist look. On the island, an Eisinger sink and Franke tap set into the white Silestone worktops provide perfect food preparation space while a lower oak dining area provides a stylish breakfast bar. This is a one-off new build for a Japanese couple and is in Marina Del Rey in California.

Concrete-Effect for Kiev Bar SHOW: DX
Armourcoat has been used to striking effect at the new INK restaurant in Kiev, Ukraine. Specifi ed by award-winning designer Sergey Makhno, the unique ‘KonCrete’ ArmourFX panels were installed by local Armourcoat agent Faktura. The ‘fashion-styled’ INK restaurant derives its interior design from a broad range of sources. With lighting crafted from glass jars, bright armchairs, huge art-deco posters splashed with ink, back-lit Japanese Shoji screens and architectural partition in polished plaster, the unusual mix of design ideas combines to present a stunning and original restaurant interior.
