2 Countries, 12 States, 1 Cause

ream Ride is more than a charity ride and car cruise (Dream Cruise). This event has touched the lives of people living with intellectual disabilities in our communities. Dream Ride was started 12 years ago by a handful of Bozzuto’s Inc. (a wholesale food distribution company in Cheshire, CT) employees on a motorcycle ride. Over time that ride has branched
out to two countries and 12 states for one very important cause, Special Olympics. The partnership between Bozzuto’s Inc., The Hometown
Foundation and Special Olympics has afforded Dream Ride the opportunity to raise awareness of this organization’s efforts as well as raise funds for their programs and services. As an orga- nization, Special Olympics helps foster lifelong development of children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Dream Ride’s partnership with the Law Enforcement Torch Run is Special Olympics’ largest grass-roots fundraiser. Annually, more than 85,000 volunteer law enforcement offi cers carry the Flame of Hope™ alongside Special Olympics athletes into the Opening Ceremonies of the local competitions and State, National and World Games. The Torch Run reaches 46 nations, 12 Canadian provinces and 50 states, and raises millions for local Special Olympics programs. Dream Ride and Dream Cruise have touched the lives
of law enforcement offi cers from all over the northeast and beyond. “Dream Ride has given me the opportunity to serve the community in such a positive way. Working hands-on with Special Olympics, their athletes and everyone involved with Dream Ride has enriched my being and has inspired me as an Offi cer, as a citizen and as member of society. I feel blessed to be associated with such a worthy cause,” says Trooper First Class Walter Greene, Connecticut State Police. Dream Ride is celebrating its 13th year and will be wel- coming riders from all over the Eastern Seaboard, Canada
Law Enforcement Motor Offi cers from all over the United States participate in the annual Dream Ride in Connecticut.
and beyond in August. The State of Florida is the newest edition to this multi-state initiative. Riders from Florida will be cruising to Farmington, CT to participate in Dream Ride weekend on August 23-25. For more information on Dream Ride or Dream Cruise, visit
