The benefits brought about by the new light installations were immediate. PLS created bespoke colour rendering to suit the waterpark’s needs and the resultant light provided by the new floodlights illuminates the features of the water park whilst being extremely crisp and sharp. Warren adds, “The lights are performing as they should do- illuminating instantly and producing excellent light quality- therefore I am extremely pleased with them.” Not only do the new lights enhance a


tropical and idyllic atmosphere, they have also drastically reduced carbon emissions. To date the water park has saved just over 4 tonnes of carbon equivalent to annual savings of 57%. These figures serve as a great


encouragement for other hospitality venues which are looking to reduce their carbon emissions but are not sure where to start. Reducing energy usage not only enhances corporate reputation but also saves money. Keith Wyatt, Commercial Director at

Vegas …….The Joint is the concert venue for the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, an intimate 4,000 capacity space which delivers an unforgettable live music experience with its commitment to a remarkable sound.


Lighting designer for the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Christopher Lose explains “We used to rent lights then decided to buy them. When we started looking at fixtures we had three lights in mind, including the HPE 1500,” adding “We’re a rock ‘n roll venue and need all the bells and whistles and versatility we can get. We have 10 lighting designers a month who come in wanting different things. So the more tricks our lights have the better.”


The Alpha Spot HPE 1500, has a 1500W moving head, and has an incredible array of colour and imagery devices, which include 20 gobos on three wheels, animation disc, rotating prism and the exclusive Automated-Star-Gobo (patent pending). All devices are fully combinable with limitless rotation and morphing possibilities. The zoom has an extreme aperture range from 7° to 57° (1:8 ratio) with a 120 bpm speed.
